Nowadays, builders are changing the home designs based on COVID-19, and here are some of the changes that we're talking about. Every room needs to serve multiple purposes.

Those are the rooms that are called flex rooms. Flex stands for flexibility. In other words, any room has to be used for many occasions. It's either a gym, an arts & craft, or homework room, or game room, or yoga room, or any other things that the homeowner requires will use this flex room for that motive.

Builders know that, and nowadays they are building homes including a flex room. And the only one who's gonna decide what goes in the flex room is you, the consumer.

No home office? People say, "No, thank you."

People are in the market today, either on a new home or an existing home, one of the things that they must have is a home office. This is the thing to do after COVID-19.

We knew, we learned that people are more productive when they work from home, and more secure as well.

Design rooms having health in mind. For example, as a builder, we are building mudrooms in every home with a sink.

Most of the people are telling us that because of COVID-19, they go to grocery shopping and they come back and they clean their groceries way before they enter the house.

Mudrooms are also used to leave the shoes out, just for security, and they can enter the house and they also don't carry any germs with it.

Having a mudroom with a faucet and having the space to allocate shoes is something important that not every house that was built before COVID had, but right now is a thing that people are requesting.

Yards need to be used all year round. People realize that not only they wanted to live inside safe, but also have the outside for other use, play use.

Kids need to play outside as well as inside. Having a swimming pool in a new home involves activities outside.

Having an outdoor kitchen involves that some of the cooking, in other words, not all of the cooking is gonna be done inside.

Some of the cooking will also be done outside, inviting, also, your guests and entertaining people. And the last reason, when everything happens at home, there is a lot more to store.

That's why builders are paying attention to big pantries and big closets. There is more storage needed in a house after COVID-19. And people are realizing that even if COVID-19 goes away, what happens if the next virus comes in? That storage needs to be at the house
