The Best Beaches in Tampa

Often when we talk about the city of Tampa, we mention things beyond the sunny weather and beautiful beaches. It almost goes without saying. But it’s true: Tampa is home to dozens of beautiful sandy beaches. A custom home in Tampa puts you within miles of all of these incredible beaches. Visitors to Tampa have a difficult time choosing just one or two to check out. Fortunately, from your new dream home you’ll have all the time in the world to explore each one. Here are some of Arjen Homes’s favorites.

Sand Key Park

The beach at Sand Key Park is known for its wide, white sands and rare wildlife sightings. Sand Key is just south of the main Clearwater Beach, and it is typically less crowded. It’ll be easier to park as well as to find your personal spot on the beach. Famously, sea turtles lay eggs on the beach here, so nature lovers can get a unique experience observing the turtles as well as a day in the sun.

Caladesi Island State Park

The Caladesi Connection Ferry takes you a mile off the coast to the secluded beaches of Caladesi Island. The beaches are some of the most striking in the Tampa area, with bright blue waters and white sand. Because the island is a state park and nature observatory, it is less developed and has less commercial amenities. It’s the perfect beach to visit when you want more of an escape from the city.

Ben T. Davis Beach

Ben T. Davis Beach is the nearest beach to downtown Tampa, and it’s a great choice to complement a day or night spent in the city. Beyond the prime location, the beach has an incredible view of the Bay. Check out Ben T. Davis and enjoy a picnic and a sunset.

Honeymoon Island State Park

A short and scenic drive off the mainland takes you to Honeymoon Island, an island with great hiking on nature trails, as well as over four miles of beaches to explore. Keep an eye out for rare birds like eagles, ospreys, and horned owls. Of course, you also need to make sure you experience one of the romantic sunsets that made Honeymoon Island famous.

Sunset Beach, Treasure Island

Sunset Beach is a lovely seaside community that used to be considered its own town. The mile long boardwalk is popular among joggers and walkers. To cool off after a day on the beach, there are several restaurants near the shore. And as you might guess, it’s a great place to watch the sunset.

Indian Rocks Beach

Another quieter, more spacious beach, Indian Rocks is a nice place to get away from the crowded beaches and big hotels. Even though it has a more secluded feel, Indian Rocks still offers

Clearwater Beach

Clearwater Beach is often considered the preeminent beach in the Tampa Bay area, and it’s hands down one of the best in the country. It’s a wide, sprawling beach, with sparkling white sand and emerald water. It’s home to the most amenities of any beach on this list, with lots of great shops and restaurants just off the shore. For an exciting day or a night of celebration, Clearwater is the essential beach.

We’ve just scratched the surface of all the great spots to enjoy the warm gulf waters and sandy shores of Tampa. With a modern custom home in Tampa from Arjen Homes, you’ll be able to explore them all and decide for yourself which one is your favorite.
